How to Yoni Steam:
Start by boiling 6 cups of distilled or spring water. Once the water has reached a boil, reduce heat to low, add one muslin bag filled with herbs and steep for 15 minutes. (If you prefer, you can open the muslin bag and pour the loose herbs directly into the boiling water, the muslin bag is included for easy clean up.)
While the herbs are steeping, place your sitz bath or metal bowl into the toilet seat bowl.
Once the herbs are done steeping, wave your hand over the steam, and when it reaches a comfortable temperature, pour the herbal concoction into the sitz bath or metal bowl. Undress from the waist down, sit down and wrap a towel around your waist to keep the steam in the desired area and proceed to steam for approximately 20 minutes.
When NOT to Yoni Steam:
- If you’re pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
- If you have an IUD
- If you have genital piercings, you must remove the jewelry first, otherwise the metal would heat up and may cause burns.
- When using hormonal creams or rings
- When a vaginal infection, open wound, sore, or blister is present
- During the flow of your menstrual cycle
